• Friday night wine tasting—every Friday, 6:30-10:00pm; we put on a wine-tasting in our cafe which features live music. Our house band, featuring Carl Schumacher, performs on the 1st Friday of each month. Check the calendar to see the schedule.

hosting your event

Below is information on how to host events at the Emporium. Please read the appropriate section in full before contacting us.

For individuals or groups interested in hosting events or gatherings...
We consider ourselves first and foremost a community space. To that end, we welcome any groups that would like to use our space for events or gatherings during our hours of operation. Groups and events of any kind are welcome, such as knitting groups, reading and writing groups, chess tournaments, etc. For on-hours events, there is a minimal fee to cover our costs, which is negotiable. Your event can be informal or we can publicize it on our in-store calendar, web site calendar, and e-news list.

For musicians and bands interested in performing...
Every Friday from 6:30-10:00pm we put on a wine-tasting in our cafe which features live music. Musicians and bands play for tips (we pass the hat). This is a well-attended local event with a lively (and frequently generous) crowd. In addition to our regular roster of local performers, we welcome new acts. We are flexible with our space but recommend a visit to the cafe to see what we can offer. We book fast and early, so if you’re interested in performing on a Friday evening, let us know as much in advance as possible. (We are currently on a hiatus of booking new bands. For individuals or groups interested in renting our space...
You can rent our space for wedding receptions, commitment ceremonies, bar/bat mitzvahs, nonprofit fundraisers, group meetings, or any event/meeting you need to host. You can choose to have your event advertised on our web site and e-mail list, or it can remain private. Rates will be determined based on the meeting’s size, length of time, and whether or not you’re a nonprofit, individual, or group.
